Is registration open?

How do I register to participate in the workshop?
Simply click on Register Now link on the left rail of all the pages on the website except on the Lodging and Travel page and the Abstract page to begin the registration process.

What is the deadline for registration?
September 8, 2017. After this date, registration must be done on site and you will not be listed in the attendee list in the program book.

Is there a discounted registration fee?
Yes, if you secure your hotel room at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park before July 15th you will receive a 50% discount on your Workshop registration fee. After securing your hotel room reservation, AWIS Conference Services will email you a 2017 NSF ADVANCE/GSE Program Workshop registration discount code within 72 hours.  

Are Co-PIs and team members invited to the workshop?
Please feel free to bring your ADVANCE/GSE Co-PIs and team members. 

How can I pay for the registration fee?

You may pay with check or credit card for the $155 per person registration fee. Please contact Christin McGrath at 202-588-8175 ext. 207 if you have any problems with registration checkout. 

How do I submit a poster abstract?
The call for poster abstracts has closed.  You can access the poster abstracts tab to find more information.  There will be no exceptions.

How do I submit a session abstract?
The call for session abstracts has closed. The deadline was June 21, 2017. There will be no exceptions.

Can my registration fee be refunded if I decide to not attend the workshop after registering?
In the event you cannot attend the workshop, the final date for the registration fee to be fully refunded is September 8, 2017. After that date, your registration will be forfeited.

If I can't attend, can I send someone in my place?

Yes, as long as your ADVANCE/GSE grant covers the cost of registration and travel for that individual.

What is the closest airport to the hotel?
The closest airport is Regan Washington National Airport (DCA). More travel information can be found on the Lodging/Travel page of the registration website. 

Is there a free shuttle service to the hotel?

No, however there are multiple options for ground transportation to the hotel from the three airports. Additional ground transportation information is on the Lodging/Travel page.  

What time is check-in/check-out at the hotels?
Check-in begins at 4:00 pm and check-out is by 12:00 pm.

What is the cost of parking at the hotels?
The rate for both overnight and daytime parking is $50 for valet parking or $45 for self parking.

Is there Wi-Fi in the hotel?
There will be free Wi-Fi in the conference meeting rooms at the Marriott.  Additionally, free Wi-Fi is available in your hotel room if you are a member of the Marriott Rewards program.  If you are not a member, you may register to become a member at the hotel registration desk.
