Organizing in the Workplace

Join an interactive workshop for a day of networking and connecting 

Hear from women leaders from biotech, academia, and high tech on the power of connecting at work and building communities. Some featured speakers and activities include:

  • Aida Sabo VP Diversity at Parexel,a strong advocate of building a diverse work force
  • Dr. Bahija Jallal, CEO of Immunocore and former AWIS president on the benefits of workplace employee resource groups
  • Learn how to self promote to build your career – Participate in Google’s I Am Remarkable training (#iamremarkable)
  • Plus, we will feature a round table workshop aimed at helping attendees understand how to promote diversity and inclusion at work with positive impact to their careers

There will be a raffle with some great prizes and we will provide breakfast and lunch. Be sure to bring your business cards!  We look forward to seeing you!

Google Initiative-I Am Remarkable  Facilitator: Kat Langan Google workshop  https://iamremarkable.withgoogle.com/  In this training  you will earn about importance/gain tools to help you develop the skills of self promotion to benefit your career

 

11:30 – 12:00  Lunch / Networking

12:00-1:00  Keynote speaker afternoon:
Bahija Jallal, CEO, Immunocore, previous AWIS national  president will speak to her story around successfully building a supportive environment for men/women to communicate the business need of building diversity/inclusion groups even in the most resistant environments
