LGBTQ+ Advocacy - Share Your Story
Share |

During the month of June, we will be celebrating LBGT Pride Month! While much has been accomplished since the Stonewall Riots of 1969 that Pride commemorates, much remains to be done year-round to create environments, particularly in STEM, that value, include, and recognize the LGBTQ+ community.

AWIS knows there are still a myriad of systemic reasons LGBTQ+ individuals in STEM don’t feel comfortable or safe disclosing this aspect of who they are in STEM educational and workplace environments. Therefore, our Pride celebrations aim to highlight LGBTQ+ and ally members of the AWIS community by showcasing the important LGBTQ+ advocacy work happening in our community.

If you have been involved in LGBTQ+ advocacy in your STEM spaces, we’d love to feature your story in our June 2017 Issue I of the Washington Wire, our bi-monthly e-news digest. Simply fill out the form below with a recent photo of yourself to be featured.

Thanks for your continued support of women in STEM!
