AWIS presents "STEM & Gender – How to advocate for legislators to diversify the STEM workforce?" on Wednesday, November 21, 2017 from 3:00-4:00 PM Eastern.

Presented by: Dr. Marci Levine, Lehigh ADVANCE Project Manager at Lehigh University and Dr. Jennifer Swann, Director of Student Success & Co-Chair of the Council for Equity and Community at Lehigh University.

In this webinar, we will review basic principles of science advocacy, talking points about under-representation of women and minorities in STEM, and suggest ways to be an advocate to your legislative decision makers at the local, state or national level no matter your experience or role. Participants will understand the importance policymakers place on scientific evidence and data and how to communicate scientifically-sound policy to elected officials. Useful online tools from AWIS and other sources will be shared.
